Catalan Trivia and Facts Blog

Hi,

Did you know that ...
  • ... Chupa Chups lollypops are made in Catalonia?
  • ... the Nokia Tune comes from a catalan guitarrist, Francesc Tarrega, who wrote the melody in the 19th Century?
  • ... the Moulin Rouge, the famous cabarette in Paris, was founded by yet another catalan, Josep Oller?
  • ... the mexican national anthem was composed by Jaume Nuno (you guessed, yet another catalan)?
You can find all these facts, with lots of extra information, in this blog about trivia and facts about Catalonia, the beautiful region in the northeast of Spain, capital Barcelona.

Did I mention that he's a good friend of mine and that the name was created while we were on vacation?

Oh, maybe some day he'll translate it to english ... meanwhile, I would recommend to use Google's translation services ... it is not perfect, but you'll get the idea. Just click here! :)

Enjoy!

Let's Hope Audacity wins tonight ...

Hi,

Finally, they are voting. The long campaign is over ... and hopefully, when I woke up tomorrow morning, things will have changed.

Among all the media articles and docs available these days, I would like to go down memory lane and rescue the moment when "a star was born". An inspirational speech, worth 18 minutes of your life. Of course, watch it with a USA mentality, as many things seems quite obvious to the average european. Actually, I would say to the average person in this world :)
